HOT TIPS
Roulette

BE SURE TO UNDERSTAND THE RULES OF THE GAME.

Tip 1:
PERCENTAGES AND ADVANTAGES
The mathematics of Roulette is surprisingly simple. If the Roulette wheel has 38 numbers (1-36, 0, 00) and only one can be a winner with each spin, then the probability of choosing the winning number is 1 in 38, or 37 to 1.

But, the player is not actually paid 38 to 1 on the bet, actually 36 to 1. This means that the player’s chances of winning have actually been reduced before a bet has even been placed, since the House enjoys a 5.26% advantage.

Even if you were to try your luck with the Even and Odd bets, the Street Bets, and the Column Bets, the House still holds an edge of 5.26%.

There is only one bet that does not give the House this advantage – the Five Number Bet (‘0’, ‘00’, 1, 2, and 3). This bet actually gives the House a 7.9% advantage.

Tip 2:  EUROPEAN ROULETTE - A SINGLE ZERO
In European Roulette (only one 0, no 00) there is an advantage for the player since the wheel has only 37 numbers, reducing the House advantage to 2.70% for all bets.

There are other advantages to European Roulette, the "En Prison" rule which says that:
If the player has an even money bet (red/black, even/odd, high/low) going and '0' ends up the winner, then the bet cannot be touched nor moved. Thus, it is “en prison”, or, imprisoned.  The bet is then decided with the next spin of the wheel. If the bet is in favor of black and the winner is black, then the bet is returned to the player. If red is the winner then the bet is lost. This reduces the House’s advantage by half to 1.35%.

Tip 3:  SPREAD YOUR RISK
It's difficult to choose the exact one number that the ball will land on, so you to spread your risk to improve your chances of winning.  This can make roulette more fun and help you to win more often.

If you have a few lucky numbers, bet the corners and the splits. This way, even if your favorites don't hit, some of their neighbors might.

Example. Instead of betting $5 on one number (trying to win $180 at 36 to 1), put a dollar straight up (on your lucky number) and a dollar on all four corners of your number.  This way you're betting on a total of nine number which pay a minimum of $9 a corner number, $18 for a bordering number and $72 if you hit the number itself.

Tip 4:  PRACTICAL LOW RISK STRATEGY
If you have a small bankroll, here a practical strategy to win hundreds of dollars while only risking $5 of your own money.

Bet $5 on any even money bet, for example: red, black, 1 - 18, or 19 - 36. If you win, you will have $10.  Bet that same $5 again, plus half of your winnings. In other words, if the $5 wager wins, the next wager would be $5 + $2.50 = $7.50 (rounded off to $8).

If you lose the first bet, start again and bet $5 again.

The object is to win 7 bets in a row. If you do, you pocket $165 in profit!

The advantage to this strategy is that you never bet more than $5 of your own money and even after only 2 wins in a row, you're guaranteed to end with a profit.
